True Grit: Women Confront Life

The Feminine Genius Realized

11-10-2007

The fourth conference in our series continued it's exploration of Pope John Paul II's Apostolic Letter of 1988, Mulieris Dignitatem (no. 19), with an exploration of what Pope John Paul II calls 'suffering', especially the kind of suffering that women put up with on a daily basis, how God has permitted this, and how the way we weather these tribulations can add or subtract from our happiness as people. This "heroic virtue" in everyday life IS True Feminism for Real Women!

Our Speakers:

Dr. Lisa Klewicki, Ph.D. Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Arlington, VA
Title:  God's Providence: the Gift of the Present Moment
Dr. Klewicki will cover the basics of Church teaching on 'suffering' (MULIERIS DIGNITATEM #19). What tools do we as women possess to  help us cope with the vagaries of life? How are we the glue of the basic unit of society - ie. the family? What  external means can we use to help us cope?  Dr. Klewicki's talk will stress the need to recognize our innate genius, and the fact that there is always a reason for suffering - it's redemptive value..

Mrs. Tracy Tomiak
Title: Heroic Virtue as an Everyday Experience
Mrs. Tomiak will bring Church teaching to light in our every day life, delineate the trials the average woman goes through, and discuss the methodologies for coping. She will bring the esoteric teaching to life and allow women to walk away with some tools under the belt for use in daily life.
