Course Description:
The morning forum entitled Our Bodies, Our Souls explores the exploitation
of women in their reproductive role. These technologies may include ovum
donation, cloning, infertility drug risks. The status of informed consent
relative to these and/or other procedures will then be discussed. A third
presentation focuses on how advances in informed consent allows the healthcare
provider to better evaluate risks and benefits and effectively advocate
for the human dignity of the patient.

Becoming a better advocate for the dignity of the patient: a How-To Course
This part of the conference will equip the healthcare provider with the knowledge
and ability to better advocate for the patient by effectively evaluating
the risks and benefits associaed with at least some of the procedures described.

Marjorie Campbell, J.D. Ll.M., Having first spoken at CCWF’s inaugural forum
in 2005 on True Feminism for Real Women, Marjorie/Mrs. Campbell returns to
the forum this year.
A litigator and law professor by background, Marjorie/Mrs. Campbell studies
canon law at Catholic University of America and writes for InsideCatholic.com.
She will explain the legal concept of "informed consent" and illustrate how
developments in this doctrine can empower women to reclaim their dignity.
