September 26-27, 2008
Each Fall The National
Catholic Bioethics Center presents a series of two-day seminars in various
cities across the United States to address current topics in bioethics.
These seminars are intended to benefit health care workers, clergy, those
involved in research in the life sciences, members of ethics committees,
and others who provide spiritual support and counsel to patients and their
families. Those simply interested in the Church's moral tradition in health
care will also find them accessible and informative.
The organizing framework for the curriculum is the application of The
Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Service to critical issues
raised in medicine and the life sciences. The seminars are structured to
equip participants with the awareness to present, analyze, and resolve complex
bioethical dilemmas encountered in clinical education and research from
an interdisciplinary perspective. The Callifornia Catholic Women's Forum
is proud to announce that they will provide continuing education for this
special 2-day conference.

Married Love and the Gift of Life, United States Council of Catholic Bishops booklet
In this thoughtful statement the bishops of the United States reflect on
God's wonderful plan for marriage-the ability of a man and woman to form
a lasting bond of love and life. In an engaging question and answer format,
the bishops explain Church teachings on conjugal love and responsible
parenthood and the methods of Natural Family Planning which support those
teachings.
